The State of Montana Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) is a publication of the Department of Administration, State Financial Services Division, State Accounting Bureau. The Accounting Bureau is responsible for the fair presentation of the financial statements of the State of Montana and for the preparation of the CAFR. The CAFR presents the State's financial position and results of operations, as well as demographic and statistical information to assist the reader in assessing the State's financial condition.
In addition to the CAFR, the Bureau also publishes the State of Montana Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR). The purpose of the PAFR is to extract information from the CAFR to produce annual financial reports specifically designed to be readily accessible and easily understandable to the general public and other interested parties without a background in public finance.
The following State of Montana CAFRs and PAFR are available in the Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). For optimum viewing and printing, the free Adobe Acrobat Reader software is required; the latest version can be downloaded from Adobe.
